   Introduction

Nexus is a Free Software Project to create an powerful set of tools for interactive audio and MIDI edition application programming . It is being designed for Unix/Linux users.

Some years ago, the professional audio edition was so expensive that only people who could buy sequencers, synthesizers and another hardware equipments lead the sector. Sound Edition was a luxury.

At the same time, when the PC was coming, "traking" borned. Trackers were Simple Sound Editor Application, and any PC could be used to edit sound. They were for Commodore, Atari and after for MS-DOS too.

Although the quality of the first applications was bad, home users were happy.

On the other side, computering aided the professional musics. The first Software MIDI sequencer borned. They make simple the creation and edition of music in the professional environment.

These were the inicial musical computering. Both methods of musical creation were borned at the same time: the home musician with the "trackers" and the hybrid environments ( Hardware-Software ) to the professional musician. Capacity of home computering has grown since then. Now, computers are powerful. Virtual instruments have appeared. They are completely synthesized by software. Professional environments, which are monopolized by sequencer software like Cubase VST, Emagic Logic Audio and another, have incorporated audio synthesis elements more and more. Actually, there are hybrid audi-midi systems, like the same philosophy than the old trackers.

Now we can integrate all in a only environment, the old tracking with the most powerful characteristics of professional environments. NEXUS SOUND PROJECT born with this intention. Nexus is a Free Software Porject ( GPL ), for audio aplications feasible development.

Feel free to join to the developers team.
